CBRN Preparedness Kits and Complete PPE Ensembles
Respiratory protection alone is not a CBRN response. A serious chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear event puts every square inch of exposed skin at risk, which is why a complete ensemble pairs a full-face respirator with a chemical-resistant suit, butyl rubber gloves, overboots, matched filter cartridges, and other accessories. PPE kits exist so households, teams, and first responders do not have to assemble protection piece by piece during a developing emergency. Every kit in this collection is built around the EN 136:1998 Class 3 respirator standard and the 40mm NATO filter system used throughout the MIRA Safety® lineup.
These kits are designed for escape, evasion, and shelter-in-place rather than for entry into an unknown contaminated environment. That is because every component is built around an air-purifying respirator (APR), which filters ambient air and depends on a breathable surrounding atmosphere, rather than a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) that supplies air from a tank.
