Revolutionizing Workplace Safety: Comprehensive Industrial Safety Solutions with MIRA Safety Gear

by Jeff Edwards

It has long been known that research and development for the purpose of war has benefited society as a whole. The internet was developed by the Department of Defense in the 1960s to ensure communications could continue in the event of war. Now, kids today are on the internet before the age of 5. GPS was developed to more accurately drop bombs on people and now, it will track how many miles you run to meet your fitness goals.

So it is with workplace safety and the beneficiaries of safety gear that can hold up under the stress of war is the modern American worker. The team here at MIRA Safety is proud to equip some of the world's most elite warfighters with equipment that shows up each and every time they need it. With that same confidence, we equip American employers to ensure their work environment does the same for their employees. Let's talk about how we get that done.

The One Essential Component of an Effective Industrial Safety System

As it pertains to combat, it is a discernible truth that gunfights tend to be notoriously unkind to the second place finisher. That's why we design equipment with a first place finish in mind. It's just the one time a person dies that tends to be the problem and we do all we can to avoid that.

If you're a procurement specialist or you're looking to pick up equipment for yourself because your employer doesn't seem to care about occupational safety, you have to know that our equipment is going to show up for you when it matters most.

You are not going to have a work accident every single day. However, just like a gunfight, it takes one time to matter. Either the equipment you procure shows up when it is needed or it does not. We design PPE that shows up. Period. Full stop.

How a Safety Management System Improves Workplace Productivity

Keep in mind that the United States asks its military to do some insane tasks. Kick down a door knowing full well that someone is behind it waiting to shoot you? Do it. Travel into an environment full of toxic gas designed to kill you? Do it.

One has to ask themselves, what gives them the confidence to do the insane tasks to which they are ordered. There is a genuine belief that the powers that be have put the right equipment in their hands and will do all they can to save them after the mission is accomplished.

Medevac helicopters in the Korean War changed the game when it comes to saving wounded service members. Blood clotting equipment and medical technology saved countless service members during the Global Wars on Terror that never would have made it during Vietnam.

If you give your people the best equipment that they believe will give them a fighting chance if this dangerous job goes awry, they will fight for you. They will do the job so long as you indicate that you have done the job to procure the proper equipment. Show up for them and they will show up for you.

Types of Industrial Safety Equipment for any Work Environment

The first step when it comes to safety and health in the workplace is to do a thorough inspection of the risks at hand. To combat the threat one must understand the threat. As it pertains to MIRA Safety and the products we offer, we'd break down these threats into three essential categories.

The ability to breathe clean air: This one is first and foremost on the list. A person can survive for a month or more with food. They can survive a week or more without water. Without the ability to breathe clean air, you've only got minutes before the damage is permanent.

To combat this threat, we offer a range of gas masks that can hold up under the harshest of conditions. Remember, our products were designed to hold up under the rigors of combat. They are going to do well when a chemical fire breaks out at work.

The ability to keep the body free from chemical exposure: It's great that you have a gas mask to breathe clean air, but if chemicals that burn the skin are all over you, it's still going to be a bad day. Some work environments simply need to step up the game when it comes to health and safety.

For these environments, we have an entire series of HAZMAT Suits and accessories to protect the rest of the body. Most often the case, one isn't working daily in a HAZMAT suit. Most workplaces need them on hand in order to safely respond to a crisis or emergency. Waiting for 911 to get there to pull your work buddy out of a toxic environment is not an option. Keep your employees prepared and save the day yourself.

The ability to keep foreign objects from penetrating the body: This one primarily concerns first responders, law enforcement, and those who routinely rub elbows with the worst of society. Unfortunately, many agencies and departments around the nation put the burden on the individual employee to procure top notch body armor.

We know this to be true as law enforcement officers from sea to shining sea come to us looking for a solution. We sell Level 4 Body Armor in a variety of options that ensures an officer on any budget can pick up the protection they need. For procurement specialists looking to ensure their officers are covered, reach out to us as we have bulk ordering options for agencies that really give a damn about their employees' safety.

A Safe Workplace Begins with a Culture of Accountability

There are not enough safety training videos in the world to ensure compliance when it comes to safety in the workplace. We've all been there where once a year you sit down and watch a cheesy video that is supposed to enhance employee safety. It just doesn't work.

At MIRA Safety, when it comes to employee safety we take cues from our military customers and create a culture of accountability. It is essential for employers to develop key processes that are in place to save their best employee on their worst day.

Most importantly, there must be a culture of accountability around these processes. Without proper oversight, employees undergo a phenomenon known as "practical drift." Meaning, you can train new employees on the right way to do things. Unfortunately, as soon as you do, those savvy veteran staff members pull them aside and say, "this is how we really do things."

Without a culture of accountability, employees will fall into a pattern of complacency and drift away from the standard operating procedures that are in place for their safety. In a dangerous workplace, just like in combat, complacency kills. We've got some great safety equipment for you, but in the hands of the wrong management team, it won't do you any good.

Industrial Safety Equipment for Every Environment

The mission of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is to ensure that American workers have safe and healthy working conditions. They employ the best safety professionals and put out the best safety practices and if you run afoul of their safety regulations, you can expect a heavy fine coming your way.

However, it is not the job of OSHA to identify every hazard and do what leaders should do themselves for their people. If you work with toxic chemicals, it shouldn't be OSHA to be the first to suggest that you pick up some personal protective equipment for their people.

We sell amazing protective gear here, but even we can't think of every possible need out there in the modern American workforce. Our gas masks are great, but if you get your hand caught in an industrial slicer, it's not going to do you much good. I know our HAZMAT suits are amazing, but if you get sucked into the turbine of a jet engine, you're toast.

Leadership matters. The Department of Labor could order you to procure industrial safety products without end and without good leadership, people will suffer. Workplace hazards, industrial processes, and manufacturing safety will always boil down to the competence of leadership. We provide great equipment. You just need good leaders to look after their people.

A Summarized Conclusion of Hazards and Industrial Safety Solutions

We think about safety a great deal here at MIRA Safety and personal preparedness is our business. When it comes to functional safety in the workplace, we feel an obligation to treat the average American employee with the same respect that we would treat the average American warfighter.

We develop products that are literally designed to show up when someone is shooting at you and trying to poison you with toxic elements, at the same time. As far as safety hazards go, that's about as perilous as it could get for your health and well-being.

It is on your leadership to ensure compliance with safety regulations for your company. It is on your leadership to foster a culture of safety. As for the team here at MIRA Safety, we are simply committed to producing the best safety technologies available. We want so much for every single American manufacturer to come home at the end of their shift after a long day and kiss their kids goodnight.

Safety matters to us here at MIRA Safety. Technology that was built for the battlefield has a place in the American workplace. We beg you, with tears in our eyes, put this technology to work for your people. Leaders, this article is a call to you. Business owners, this article is a plea with your bottom line to not replace peace of mind that you have done all you can for your employees to be sure they go home at night.

We're here for you. If you have any questions or would like further clarification about the capabilities of our safety equipment, please don't hesitate to reach out. You matter to us.
