UHMWPE plates must not be exposed to temperatures higher than 150°F for prolonged periods. Extended exposure to extreme heat can potentially compromise the plate’s integrity and reduce its protective abilities. Though it’s unlikely that you will encounter temperatures that high, it’s best to store your armor in a cool, dry, and dark place, away from high heat.

You would have to perform a negative pressure test. To do this, you would put the mask on your face, take a deep breath out, cover the inhalation valve (make sure the opposite side has the 40mm cap in place), and take a deep breath. If the mask sucks tight to your face without leaking air, you know that this mask fits.

• Areal Density: The weight of the armored panel in grams per square meter divided by the protection area of the panel. It gives an indication of the energy absorption capability of the material.)

  
  

• Modulus: This is the measure of stretch or elasticity of fabric. The number associated with modulus is the amount of load in grams it takes to initiate stretch in a 1000 denier yarn; a higher number reflects lower stretch.

  
  

With the Ballistic version having a greater Areal Density and a higher Modulus than the commercial versions. Commercial versions are typically found in the manufacturing of medical & food processing, conveyor belts, and industrial products, as well as low grade, cheap ballistic products.
