If my neighbour has a thermo-nuclear bomb hidden in his car in the garage wrapped in lead will it still emit radiation capable of being detected?
There are many variables to consider here, including the thickness of the lead, how stable the material is, etc. I would consult with a nuclear engineer for this question.

We have tested this but not used it yet. Better to be safe than sorry!!
Seems to be quite accurate compared to official background radiation data from my area. A very small and light device, roughly the size of a highlighter or marker pen. The drawbacks would be that it is a little tricky to change modes and the display is tiny and has no backlight as far as I can tell. Battery cap is easy to open, perhaps a little too easy, and I think I would have preferred threads instead of twist and pull. H-4 setting (light indicator setting) title is written in Russian in the manual for some reason. From the looks of it, it seems it is not waterproof so I will be careful with that. But these drawbacks are minor. I like it after all. :)
